Quick before you read this post, go buy it, please!
My whole life I wanted to be an author, I just didn’t know it. Whether I was creating universes in my bedroom with my action figures, or drawing stick figure comics in endless notebooks during class in high school, my entire world revolved around telling stories. I was just telling them to myself.
My first “real novel” if you could call it that was a G.I. Joe fanfic that I finally finished about 15 years ago (which has since been adapted into Kindle Worlds) that I worked on around my 3rd shift post office job, getting out of work at midnight, and writing until 4am.
More stories followed, in the form of web comics with action figures, so-called “Dio Stories” which consumed much of my fiction storytelling in the decade that followed. Once Hasbro officially announced their Amazon partnership with Kindle Worlds, I published The Price of Peace, then Welcome to Wolf Squad, and finally G.I. Joe: Legacy – Whisper, and among it all, I finally sat down to write my own novel.
My own novel. Characters entirely of my own creation, born from my own mind and etched into a sort of permanence on paper or in digital form. Mine. They’re all mine.
I can’t quite describe how it makes me feel to have actual published works with my name attached, telling stories of characters that have been in my head for many years. It’s…well… pretty cool.
So when I finally got my first novel published last August, it was thrilling, but I knew I had to work hard on book two, and I did. So here we stand, and Book Two is officially on Amazon.com ready to go, and waiting for folks to embrace it.
I hope you love it. I hope you enjoy reading it half as much as I enjoyed writing it. And I hope you’re ready for Book Three, because I’m 50,000 words deep and plugging along.
Thanks to everyone for their support, I couldn’t (or at least wouldn’t) have made it nearly this far without you all.
